Workflow Integration
Map existing workflows and design where AI fits as a cognitive partner
Map existing workflows and design where AI fits as a cognitive partner inside how professionals already do their work.
Overview
AI inside the rhythm of daily work, not alongside it as a separate tool
- Workflow integration is the work of redesigning how teams operate so AI lands inside the actual rhythm of daily work rather than alongside it as a separate tool. The aim is to reduce cognitive load, improve consistency of output and unlock the kind of compounded value that disconnected pilots never deliver.
- The starting point is observation and mapping. Existing workflows are documented in detail, decision points are surfaced and the cognitive load of each step is named. Candidate AI integrations are then designed to fit specific moments in the work, each mapped to one of the four operating models rather than layered on as generic copilots.
- Workflow integration suits organisations that want AI to participate in operations rather than just exist on the side. It works well after a strategy engagement and pairs with training so the people involved use the redesigned process well. Deliverables are operational artefacts: redesigned workflows, integration patterns and adoption guides.
